The Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, shared words of inspiration with Leone Stars during his Friday to the squad’s training camp ahead of their crucial AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Chad and Zambia.
With genuine passion, Dr. Saffa Abdulai emphasized the importance of the upcoming qualifiers and urged the players to approach the challenge with utmost seriousness and determination to secure qualification to the continent’s biggest sporting event after missing out on the previous two editions. He expressed Government’s relentless commitment to boost the national side.
“We missed out on the previous two editions of the AFCON tournament, and we know how it feels as a nation, considering Government’s huge investment in football. So we have to be very much on our toes this time so we can qualify.
“Our group is a bit difficult, but the coaches have given me their words and confidence that they will fight this one hard. We look forward to that. On the part of Government, we will ensure we provide the necessary logistics for the team, and it is upon us now to do the needful for ourselves and for the country,” Dr. Abdulai told the Leone Stars camp”.
To these words of hope, Leone Stars’ Head Coach Amidu Karim expressed gratitude on behalf of the technical team and players for Dr. Abdulai’s timely visit, expressing fond memories of the playing days of the NSA Boss. He assured the Boss of the team’s commitment in representing the country and hit qualification.
“I believe this is such a motivation for the boys. With the spirit of unity and determination, we are ready to take on the challenge ahead”, he said.
